Description

The Precision Twist EB3302G series of end mills has a regular length, ball nose, two-flutes, and are made of carbide with a TiN finish, for high-speed machining of curved surfaces in steel and stainless steel.

The TiN finish is a gold-colored, ceramic coating that combines hardness and low friction to extend cutting tool life and permit faster cutting speeds than with uncoated tools. The regular length trades off rigidity for length, so you can work with thicker pieces of material or be able to reach out-of-the-way locations.

Ball nose end mills have a smooth geometry of the cutting tip, which translates into lower cutting forces, giving the cutter added strength under pressure. They can also produce radii in the bottom of slots or pockets for added strength, reducing stress concentrations.

End mills are tools with cutting teeth on the sides, and on one end (single ended) or both ends (doubled ended). The teeth may be parallel to the axis of rotation, or helical, and commonly are called spiral end mills. The shape of the end can be square or round. Some end mills are center cutting, which allow for boring into a work piece like a drill bit.

Together, the Precision Twist and Dormer brands represent a strong tool brand for high productivity carbide and high-speed steel drill and tap products. Precision was founded in 1952 in Crystal Lake, IL. Dormer Tools, founded in 1913 in Sheffield, England, is known for innovative metalworking products.
