Description
Most often used on machine screws and threaded rod, these general purpose nuts are for low-strength assemblies. Hex Nuts have flat tops with chamfered corners; bottoms may be flat or chamfered. Hex drive systems are driven with a wrench.Monel, also known as Nickel-Copper Alloy 400, has exceptional strength and resistance to heat and corrosion. It is slightly magnetic, and is especially well suited for use near salt water. In comparison to steel, Monel can be difficult to machine and needs to be worked at slow speeds. Rockwell hardness is a minimum of B80, and minimum tensile strength is 80,000 psi.
A threaded fastener's size name includes information about the major external diameter, followed by the threads per inch, which indicates if it is coarse or fine.
